Midwest Metal Plating uses a lot of makeup water on final rinse baths due to high concentration of metal particle build-up between final product rinsing cycles. There were also high disposal costs due to heavy metals and low pH readings of 7.1. Our Energy process unit was placed in re-circulating water lines in the final rinse baths at the end of the day and were left in the final rinse baths over night. A visual inspection was done twelve hours later before the start of the first shift. The water was clear to the bottom of the tanks and pH rose to 7.48. Plant personnel took readings of treated water and determined there would be significant savings in maintenance, water usage and disposal cost.

Did you know?

That an Energy system in Alaska was used to incinerate all the combustibles recovered from the Valdez oil spill? The liquid and oil-soaked combustible debris was shipped by truck some 800 miles to the North Slope Borough plant at Prudhoe Bay for burning. Hazardous non combustibles were shipped to a landfill in Oregon.
